Alii Hale has 3 bedrooms (2 with king beds and 1 with twins beds), 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms (each with a queen sofa-sleeper), and 2 full kitchens. Each kitchen has a side-by-side refrigerator-freezer with ice and water through the door, dishwasher, stove top, wall oven, microwave, and numerous small appliances. Each kitchen and bathroom has granite countertops and oak cabinets. Alii Hale is decorated in peaceful, tropical tones. Alii Hale features a rooftop sundeck and Jacuzzi, air-conditioning with individual controls in each room, a fax machine, a TV and telephone in each bedroom and living room, a VCR in each living room and the twin bedroom, portable CD player, and an outdoor shower for after the beach. There is no need to bring too much with you, unless you just prefer your own items. Alii Hale has 2 washers/dryers, 2 irons and ironing boards, 3 hair-dryers, all liners needed, beach towels, beach chairs, other beach items, children's games, videos, baby stroller, no smoking, no pets, and many other amenities. Many Alii Hale guests report that they have never stayed at a more comfortable or better equipped place!
Activities in the Area
In addition to tide-pooling, snorkeling and sunbathing at the little beach across the street, there are many Kona activities with a 5 minute drive from Alii Hale, such as: golf; deep sea fishing; snorkeling; swimming; scuba diving; parasailing; bicycling; jogging; bowling; tennis; and other sports. There are also many fine restaurants, delightful shops, and stadium style cinemas. Alii Gardens Market Place, which is an upscale type of farmers' market, is approximately 2 blocks north on Alii Drive. It is fun to walk up the street and purchases fresh fruit for breakfast. It is amazing how much low cost entertainment is available to people who enjoy nature. For example, there is an excellent fish reserve beach approximately 3 miles to the south of Alii Hale. Even those who do not feel comfortable wading in deeper than their knees can see many colorful fish, and sometime, sea turtles. Bring your frozen peas! Approximately 2 miles to the south of Alii Hale is a good beach for experienced boogie boarders and body surfers. In the morning, walking to Kailua is a great way to start the day. The ocean views, chirping birds and warm Kona sun make this a memorable experience. In the Kona area there are good children's parks, historical sites, and hotel grounds to visit. The Waikoloa area, which hosts the luxury hotels, is only 3 miles north. Visiting these hotels, especially the Waikoloa Hilton, is free and definitely a site-seeing event. After dinner, the owners like to drive into Kailua, wall along the sea wall in the tropical breezes and have a shave ice. Sometimes, there is free entertainment at the Kona Village Inn Shopping Center. The free hula show at the Keauhou Shopping center on Friday night is fun. Another favorite is soaking in the Jacuzzi on the rooftop sundeck in the evening under the stars. Alii Hale guests rave about how much they like Alii Hale and its location!
