Activities in the Area
Bacalar has small grocery stores, some small tourist stores, a few restaurants, a yacht club, small disco and an internet cafe. There are however no banks, gas stations or ATM machines, all of which are located in the city of Chetumal about 40 km away. The town square is often the site of parties, shows and concerts. Located on the shores of the amazing freshwater Laguna de Bacalar, there are numerous water activities to keep you busy. Also Mexico's deepest cenote, the Centoe Azul is only a few minutes away. Here you can enjoy a good meal while listening to live music, or just enjoy taking a dive into this hole 102 metres deep. Kayaking. Visits to ruins.
