Guests' Gardens is a charming one-room cottage on a seven-acre estate. It is the sole cottage and shares grounds with the owners only. No other homes in sight. Surrounded by a swimming pond, lily pond, gardens, mountains, a stream,abundant with birds and butterflies , this property is great for honeymooners. Any couple would fine it a true getaway. A private driveway off a dirt road leads to the cottage, which has a large bedroom/sitting room, separate fully equipped kitchen, and skylit bath. From the picture window, where a table is placed, you can look out over the flowers to see a lily pond and a large, deep swimming pond set off by mountain views .In the summer, the back door opens to a private garden with lawn chairs and an outdoor table for summer dining.Your own gazebo on the pond has chaises for reading and relaxing. Wintertime, it is cozy with the wood burning stove a romantic addition to heat. Enjoy the fire and views from bed. Just bring a book and cross country skis.

The Gardens

The cottage also features wide-board pine floors, antique furnishings, a queen-sized bed and a hi-riser bed disguised as a sofa. . Extras include a portable telephone, answering machine, toaster, miscrowave oven,coffee maker, cable TV/VCR and CD player,access to our dsl. There is also a canoe and outdoor grill. Linens, vintage dishes, and utensils are provided. Austerlitz, once part of Massachusetts, is in the Berkshire hills, 2-1/2 hours from Boston and New York - MassachussetsCity. Guests' Gardens is located just 18 minutes from Tanglewood and less than 30 minutes away from Great Barrington, West Stockbridge, and Lenox in Massachusetts and Chatham, Hillsdale, and Hudson in New York. There are four major ski slopes nearby, golf course and tennis courts, as well as fine restaurants, theaters,concerts, markets, historic homes, gardens and antiques.

Activities in the Area

Enjoy Columbia County and the Berkshire ski resorts -- Catemount, Butternut, and Jiminey Peak as well as golf and tennis. Tanglewood , Jacob's Pillow, Chesterwood, Norman Rockwell Museum, Blue Grass festivals, botanical gardens, and historical homes. Austerlitz is between the charming main-street towns of Chatham, New York - and Great Barrington,Massachussets. Tanglewood is 18 minutes away, West Stockbridge,15 minutes , and Hudson (old whaling town/new antique center) 30 minutes.

July 1 to Sept.3,2007 : Summer Special Rates. Originally $185 nt. Now 2 nt. min
@175 nt. 3 nts $ $165, 4 or more @ 150
Fall (Sept 4- Dec.31) $850 a week. $175/nt (2 nt minimum) Inquire midweek
Winter:( Jan 1-April 30) $700 a week. $350 for 2 nt weekend. Mid week specials
