If you like to explore different beaches, there is a beautiful place called Villa Vera Beach Club about 5 miles toward Punta de Mita from La Cruz (north and west), that has a great beach, 2 infinity pools, snack bar, restaurant and shops. They do charge admission. Another nice beach is called Distilladeras Beach, (free access) which is about 2 miles toward Punta de Mita from La Cruz. This beach is beautiful white sand and has 3 very nice palapa restaurants. Distilladeras beach is open to the public and, they have water toys for rent there. The beach at Punta de Mita is also free access, and very nice. There are several palapa restaurants right on the water serving a great variety of food. There are charter boats available at La Cruz for snorkeling and/or fishing. The fee is $225 US for half-day trips and $425 for all day. Cold drinks and all gear included. The 31-foot boat (a Panga) is certified for 6 people. Pangas are open boats similar to ocean going lifeboats, but they do have a nice shade canopy. [See photo on home pages] For blue water fishing, a 32 ft Sports fisher is available for charter at $425 per day, all gear included. Check with Property Manager in Mexico for availability. If golf is your thing, two of the three close by courses are open to the public. They are the Flamingo Country Club, a par 72 course, and the nearest to the Casita. Approximate cost: $95 US, which includes 18 holes of play and a shared cart. No tee time is required, just show up. The Marina course at last notice was $125 for green fees. The Four Seasons Resort course at Punta de Mita is private, however, a letter of introduction from your club's Pro to the Pro at the resort will usually open the door and allow you to play as a guest. Exact greens fees are not available to us. Close by is a Water Park where you can swim with Dolphins. Next to the Water Park is a Go-Cart track for kids of all ages from 10 to 70. One of the big attractions of the area is whale watching in the spring. In the Puerto Vallarta Marina are charters for scuba trips. It's your choice... Keep busy every day or, kick back and do nothing but relax.
