Our house is in a very quiet hamlet, situated in the the Charente region of France. The region has exceptionally good wines, cheese pate, and cognac. LA~MAISON is a converted farmhouse of charm and character located in the Charente region of south-west France. Gentleness could well describe its climate, its people and in fact its whole way of life. Fine weather and sunshine are frequent companions from Spring through Autumn. Only one hours drive from Cognac and one-and-a-half hours drive from the lovely beaches at Royan and the beautiful La~Rochelle, the house is situated in a typical French hamlet and is surrounded by vineyards and fields of sunflowers - ideal fishing, walking and cycling country. In the town (10 minutes away by car) there are restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, cafes, banks, a post office and everything else you need to make your holiday straightforward.
