We even provide a walking map at the front desk to help you locate your favorite interests. Then after a day exploring bustling San Jose, you can relax and unwind in our new Jacuzzi hot tub on the jungle patio, or go on line with our free computer and cable internet access. For dinner take our private back steps up to La Palma, an elegant open-air Peruvian style restaurant and bar. We are across from Costa Rica's largest souvenir store and we have an attached beauty salon.

The Hemingway is an authentic Spanish mansion and one of the most photographed buildings in all of San José. No two guest rooms are the same however they all have posturepedic beds, cable T.V.with 60 channels, a telephone with free calls within Costa Rica, a clock radio, an insured safety deposit box ($3 extra), a private tiled bath with a hot water shower, and daily maid service. Economy, standard and deluxe are based on size, location and ambiance. Each room has a ceiling fan to circulate the air but heating and air-conditioning are never needed in San José. Considered one of the world's great climates, we enjoy a pleasant spring-like temperature year-round as we are in the mountains a kilometer above the Caribbean and Pacific. Our bi-lingual staff can help you to arrange a car or 4X4 to rent, or we have some excellent tours to the rainforests, active volcanoes, a beach hotel, or even world class whitewater rafting on the warm Pacuare and Reventazon Rivers. We have laundry service and free luggage storage, and make a great central home-base to discover Costa Rica.
