This camp is located on North Twin Lake, a large expanse of water with a magnificent view of Mt. Katahdin in Baxter State Park. There is a private sandy beach. The attached deck provides a comfortable spot to watch the sunset. From this spot you'll also see the many ducks and loons who live on the lake's shores. Next to the deck is a patio and fire place for your picnics. This rustic camp is private, comfortable and is equipped with electricity, a stove and refridgerator. A small boat or canoe is needed to reach the camp. A nearby marina rents boats and canoes.
There is only one other camp besides our camp on our side of the island. The lake has very little traffic and is part of the Pemaduncook Chain of Lakes including Pemaduncook, Ambajejus, North Twin, South Twin and Elbow Lakes which consist of over 18,000 acres of open water. Mt. Katahdin is the highest mountain in Maine, over 5000 feet and is the beginning of the Appalachian Trail. There are numerous hiking trails for the day hiker to enjoy. Activities to enjoy are swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water skiing and relaxing in a serene and beautiful area.
