Aloha Sweet Seclusion is a riverfront vacation rental, perfect for nature lovers and travelers who enjoy "getting off the beaten track." Many visitors remember their days on Kauai, but here you will remember your nights as well, listening to water sounds and gazing down on a tropical jungle of bamboo, palms, and banana trees. This letter appeared recently in the San Francisco Chronicle travel section and tells it like it is: UNSPOILED BEAUTY OF KAUAI We recently returned from a week of R&R n the beautiful island of Kauai, and feel we discovered the real Hawaii in the unspoiled beauty of the north shore. Only four miles from the town of Hanalei is a fabulous and affordable riverfront vacation rental called Aloha Sweet Seclusion. There are three units on the property. We stayed in the Treetop Studio, and it was a pleasure to really stretch out as this "studio" was 900 square feet with big picture windows overlooking the bamboo forest and the small river passing by the swaying palms and banana trees. The main room has a king bed, while a small alcove has a queen. A fully appointed kitchenette is available, and there is a screened-in lanai and breezeway. A TV, VCR and CD player are all included. We woke up to a chorus of birds each morning and fell asleep to the sound of the gentle river each night. Our host, Ray Songtree, was helpful in pointing out the best beaches for swimming, snorkeling, surfing and kayaking and has equipment available for rental. Famous Tunnels Beach is close by, as is Lumahai Beach (remember Mitzi Gaynor in South Pacific?) The units just opened so everything is brand new and decorated in island style. We have 3 accommodations. A large "Tree Top Studio" that sleeps 4, a larger 2 bedroom "The Riverview Retreat" that sleeps 6 and a cute little studio called the "Sundeck Studio". "Riverview Retreat" can sleep 6, is 1000 square feet, all hardwood floors, cathedral redwood ceilings, with a large screened in balcony that hangs over river 20 feet away. There are two separate bedrooms, one with a King Bed and the other with a Queen size bed. There is also a fold out couch in living room for two more people if needed. And there is a jacuzzi tub on Lanai (deck). The bathroom has a tub and shower, and the kitchen is large and fully furnished. There is a private driveway and entrance. Sundeck Studio" sleeps 2. This studio is cute and romantic and very artistic. There is one King bed, a lovely bathroom with sunken tub and shower, a little kitchenette with hot plate, toaster oven, microwave and small refrigerator, and two dining areas, one inside in arched alcove, and the other on sundeck. And there is a soaking tub on Lanai (deck). The deck is covered with flowering potted plants. It has private entrance and the deck is private enough for sunbathing without tan lines! Our third story "Treetop Studio" is spacious, 900 sq. feet, and filled with light. The floors are white carpet and wood with pine cathedral ceilings. There is one King size bed looking over the river and one queen size bed in an alcove looking down on palms. These beds are visibly separated by a central bathroom with tub and shower. And there is a jacuzzi tub on Lanai (deck). A complete kitchenette includes gas stove and oven, microwave, small refrigerator, cookware and table settings. There are two screened in Lanai (decks) overlooking river and bamboo forest.
