The coastline 20 minutes away by car has beautiful beaches private coves,restaurants, castles, caves, museums, shops and ferryboat service to many Greek islands and even North Africa. Xirokambi has many taverns, coffeeshops and a large town square, a 10 minute walk from the house. There are many stores, bakeries, a post office, supermarket and weekly farmer's market. Public telephones and fax are available.
Activities in the Area
Footpaths and biketrails lead along streams into pine forest, meadows, smells of wildflowers and herbs and very closeby to the midreview town of Komosta. The whole area has many ancient sites,monasteries, forest and natural beauty. Besides all the modern comforts, it also retains the charm of early Greek traditional arts, crafts, cuisine and culture. The local people are very hospitable and most speak English. Sparta and Gythion both have exciting night life activities.
